The girls’ soccer season has drawn to a close for the Washington Demons after they suffered a 6-1 loss at Center Point-Urbana last night in the Class 1A Region 8 quarterfinals.

Washington would get on the board in the first half thanks to a goal from senior Stephanie Aguilar Banuelos, but the Demons still trailed 3-1 at halftime and could not come all the way back.

The season ends for Washington with a record of 7-9. The Demons will now say farewell to five seniors, including Aguilar Baneulos, Audrey Anderson, Giselle Marcelino, Jetzibe Sanchez and Cecilia Murphy.
