At approximately 12:14 p.m. Thursday, area law enforcement agencies responded to a call concerning a stabbing at 206 East Jefferson in Fairfield.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims who appeared to have multiple stab wounds. Both were transported to the Jefferson County Health Center and have since been discharged.

The perpetrator of the incident was discovered to be 35-year-old Zachary George Gory, who barricaded himself inside the residence until law enforcement forced entry. He was arrested and charged with two counts of attempt to commit murder, a class B felony, as well as assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts, both misdemeanors. Gory was transported to the Jefferson County Health Center for evaluation and later to the Jefferson County Jail.

He is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond. A pretrial hearing has not yet been scheduled and the investigation is ongoing.
