columbus-logo3-5

The Columbus Wildcats’ first win of the softball season was a wild one, as Columbus rallied to beat Pekin in a 14-12 slugfest Friday night. Despite a 9-1 deficit after two innings on the road, the Wildcats exploded for 10 runs in the third to go in front and would hold on to that lead the rest of the way.

Columbus was not as fortunate Saturday, falling 9-2 to Mount Pleasant at the Louisa-Muscatine Tournament. Trailing 7-1 after the first two frames would be too much for the Wildcats to overcome this time around. After a 1-2 start to the season, Columbus looks for its first conference victory when the Wildcats host WACO tonight.
