The Washington County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday. On the agenda was a public hearing and then discussion and action regarding bids received related to the Orchard Hill Office Renovation Project. There were seven bids received for this project. Supervisor Marcus Fedler shared his thoughts on the bids, “I say we award the contract to Woodruff Construction and get rolling on some of the engineering ideas. I’d say that based on the information that we got on bid day, we’re not going to find a number better if we try to rebid it, try to get more numbers, I mean, we got seven numbers, I don’t think we’re going to get any more that are going to be any less, and it might be that we get higher numbers after the fact. Having seven numbers within less than three hundred thousand on a two point five million dollar project is pretty darn good I would think.” The Supervisors were spilt in a two and two vote for the Woodruff Construction bid approval, as Chair Richard Young was not in attendance. After the motion died it was decided to add this item to next week’s agenda for approval and discussion from the full board.
