The Washington Public Library Summer Reading Program kicks off on June 1st and runs through July 31st. The theme for this year’s summer reading program is Read, Renew, Repeat. KCII News spoke with Youth Services Librarian Jenisa Harris to learn more about this year’s program, “Our overall Library summer reading goal is forty thousand pages. So we’re challenging each participant to read five hundred. So I know when you tell your kids five hundred pages, they’re going to freak. So it’s over June and July, so that’s nine pages a day. Super easy, they can totally do that. They can track it on our Beanstack App.” The Library has printed calendars for all ages at the Library desk. Any questions can be directed to Library staff during business hours
