The Washington Demons couldn’t quite find a way to defeat Fort Madison in Southeast Conference baseball last night. Despite a game effort, Washington fell at Fort Madison 4-3.

The loss drops the Demons to 1-7. Despite solid starts to the season from sophomore Kael Williams at the plate and junior Conner Leyden on the pitching mound, Washington is still searching for its first conference win of the summer.

The Demons will take the diamond again tonight against West Branch, a team that beat them in a 10-9 thriller last season and is currently 4-4.
