Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball stand out Brady Weber has been recognized this season for his work on the diamond. The Golden Hawk junior was recently named to the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Prospect Showcase Watch List for Class 2A as a utility player. The junior does a little bit of everything for the Hawks and does it well. This season at the plate, Weber is hitting .286 with 12 total hits, three doubles and a triple with nine RBI, nine walks, a .474OBP and a .405 slugging percentage. His 14 runs scored are tied for the team lead. On the mound Weber owns a 1-1 record across 22 innings with a .203 opponent batting average, giving up 16 hits, four earned runs, and striking out 21 with a 1.27ERA and a WHIP of one. He is also perfect with seven stolen bases in seven tries. The Hawks have an 11-5 overall record and are ranked No. 9 in the latest Class 2A Coaches Poll.
Final nominations for the IHSBCA Prospect Showcase are due Sunday, June 23rd. The event will be held Saturday, July 27th at Southeast Polk High School.
