As July approaches, the City of Columbus Junction would like to remind its residents of the acceptable dates and times that they can set off fireworks.

According to the City’s ordinance, the public may discharge consumer fireworks between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. from July 1 through July 7. These hours will be extended to 11 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Any other use of fireworks by a resident must be approved by the City Council. The ordinance also allows fireworks from December 28 to January 3.
