WCHC Imaging Services is excited to announce an advancement in their diagnostic imaging capabilities with the introduction of PET scan services, starting June 18th, 2024. This cutting-edge service will be available every other Tuesday and will be conducted in a mobile trailer located just outside the Imaging Department. A Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan is an advanced imaging technique that enables healthcare providers to observe metabolic processes within the body. It is particularly effective for detecting cancer, evaluating brain disorders, and monitoring heart conditions. PET scans provide highly detailed images that enhance the accuracy of diagnosis and the effectiveness of treatment planning for various medical conditions. This new offering is made possible through their partnership with Shared Medical Services.
