While the students and staff are away, the Sigourney Community School District is working on enhancing its facilities for the upcoming year.

A no-tax increase project has started at Sigourney Elementary School that will address air and water. Superintendent for the District, Kevin Hatfield, spoke more about the improvements which are expected to be finished in 2025. “Their goal is maybe a 90 percent completion at the Elementary School. It’s a two year process. The boiler’s gotta come out, all new electric, all new HVAC for air quality circulating air every 10 minutes. [It’s] a lot of quality things but it’s mostly interior stuff.”

The Sigourney CSD is additionally working on the irrigation and drainage of the football field. That project should be completed by the 2024 fall season. To learn more about facilities improvements at Sigourney, click here.
