Winfield-Mount Union suffered a pair of losses on the diamond to Mediapolis Monday. WMU/Columbus baseball fell behind when Mediapolis scored six runs in the second inning and would take a 7-1 defeat. The loss drops the Wolves to 6-10.

Winfield-Mount Union softball answered Mepo’s two runs in the first with one of their own in the second. WMU got another two runs back in the third after trailing the Bulldogs 5-1, but they would not be able to come all the way back and ultimately fell 16-3 in five innings.

Sophomore Kellee Milks had one hit, one run scored and one run batted in for the Wolves, while freshman Lilly Heckethorn had one RBI on one hit and senior Jessi Renken added a knock and a run scored. Winfield-Mount Union falls to 5-16 with the defeat.
