The Mid-Prairie boys and girls of summer start the final week of the regular season tonight with live action. The Golden Hawk baseball team is 18-8 on the year, 13-5 champions of the South Division of the River Valley Conference. The Hawks no-hit Washington in an 11-0 Saturday win last time out. On the year, Mid-Prairie is hitting .308 as a team with a .457OBP and .390 slug, scoring 187 runs on 204 hits with 153 walks and 144 strikeouts. Four Hawks hit .300 or better, led by Tatem Telfer’s .381 with 32 hits and 27RBI. Brady Weber is the leader with 25 runs scored. Bowen Burmeister and Luke Traetow are also over .300. The Golden Hawk staff ERA is 3.17 with a .232 opponent average on 153 hits, 76 earned runs, 117 walks and 199 strikeouts. Telfer is 5-1 with a 1.95ERA Burmeister, Weber, Brock Harland and Carson Pence are all multi-game winners with a combined ERA under four.

Sigourney baseball opposes Mid-Prairie tonight. They are 17-2 overall 13-1 Champions of the East Division of the South Iowa Cedar League. They beat Central City 3-1 Thursday. For the year, the Savages are hitting .356 as a team with a .502OBP and .508 slug with 193 runs on 183 hits with 125 walks and 109 strikeouts. Seven Sigourney hitters are .300 or better, led by Caden Clarahan at .585 with 34RBI and 31 hits. Cole McKay has a team best 29 runs. Others over .300 include Reid Molyneux, Isaac Bruns, Brady Clark, Jake Moore and Lincoln Power. The Sigourney staff ERA is 2.61 with a .178 opponent average on 76 hits with 43 earned runs and 160 strikeouts. Chase Clarahan, Molyneux and Solon Yates are a combined 11-0 with a 3.10ERA. These teams last met in 2015 with Mid-Prairie winning 21-6. First pitch is at 5:30p.m. in Sigourney.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 7-20, 5-10 in the River Valley, after dropping games Saturday in Iowa City to Davenport Central and Davenport West. On the year, the Hawks hit .298 as a team with a .390OBP and .391 slug, scoring 129 runs on 173 hits with 104 walks and 115 strikeouts. Individually, five players are hitting .300 or better, led by Dakota Mitchell at .420 with 29 total hits and 28 runs scored. Kadence Grout leads with 19RBI. Others over .300 include Sophie Miller, Gabi Robertson and Morgyn Bender. In the circle, Grout has worked 82 innings with a 5-11 record, .367 opponent average, 142 hits, 66 earned runs and 32 strikeouts with a 5.59ERA.

West Branch is 8-20 this year, 3-13 in conference after falling to West Liberty 6-2 Thursday. This year the Bears hit .288 as a team with a .373OBP and .366 slug scoring 134 runs on 195 hits with 80 walks and 130 strikeouts. Individually, Alyse Klinkkammer is at .456 with 41 total hits, 20 runs and 13RBI to lead those categories on the team. In the circle, Lander Malloy has a 4-6 record in 59 innings with a .346 average against on 121 hits, 63 earned runs and 34 strikeouts with a 7.47ERA. Mid-Prairie has won five straight in the series.
