The Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team dropped their final pre-tournament tune-up Friday, falling to North Mahaska 20-6 in Kalona. The Warhawks led wire-to-wire, scoring four times in the first, five more in the second and putting together a 14 batter, 11 run fourth. Hillcrest got two runs in each of the first, second and fourth frames. Each team had nine hits, but the Ravens were plagued by five errors. Morgyn Nafziger, Malia Yoder and Claire Withrow each had two hits. Those three along with Kylee Statler and Delaney Shaw each had an RBI. Nafziger scored three times, Yoder twice and Erin Bontrager once. Yoder took the loss in the circle. Hillcrest is now 12-13 on the year, North Mahaska is 9-12. The Ravens open the Class 1A playoffs tonight when they travel to Wapello.
