U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley shared his thoughts on the United States’ Supreme Court decision to overturn the Chevron Doctrine, “Overturning the Chevron Doctrine which was adopted by the Supreme Court in 1983 or 84 basically saying that, the Judicial branch of Government should not defer to the regulators whether or not the law was properly interpreted. That it’s a judge’s responsibility to interpret law.”  Chevron deference, or Chevron doctrine, is an administrative law principle that compels federal courts to defer to a federal agency’s interpretation of an ambiguous or unclear statute that Congress delegated to the agency to administer. It was a precedent set in the 1984 case Chevron USA Incorporated vs The Natural Resources Defense Council.
