The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed the method of determining compensation for elected officials in Washington County at their Tuesday meeting. Supervisor Richard Young gives more information on the topic, “Due to the passage of Senate File 2442 that the Governor signed that went into effect on July 1st, giving the Board of Supervisors the authority to do away with the compensation board or continue to have a compensation board, that’s why I wanted this on the agenda. So that we can discuss this matter and so the elected officials know which direction we are going.” The Supervisors will continue discussions on the matter and potentially schedule a public hearing to hear from members in the county.
