Farmers, producers, and anyone interested in Iowa’s organic dairy industry are invited to a field day in Kalona on Thursday, July 25.

In coordination with Kalona SuperNatural and the Iowa Organic Association, the event begins at the Kalona Historical Village at 9 a.m. Education & Outreach Coordinator with the Iowa Organic Association Ethan Book tells KCII where participants will go from there. “We’ll be going to the Kalona Creamery where they make their cream top yogurt, fudge and ice cream, and their squeaky cheese curds. We’ll also be going to the Farmer’s Creamery where they produce their fluid milk and their butter”.

Guests will hear from Farmer Liaison for Kalona SuperNatural, Phil Forbes. They’ll also get a first-hand look at organic dairy production in Iowa. The field day is free, but a farm-to-table lunch is available at $15 for IOA members and $25 for non-members. To register for the Organic Dairy Processing Field Day, click here.
