Thanks to a recent grant, the City of Keota will hold its first Movie in the Park Friday evening.

Tonight’s showing is the 2023 film Wonka. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the movie will be in Wilson Park, located between Fulton Street and Green Street on the south side of Keota. Admission is free, but there will be popcorn, candy, and slushies available for purchase.

Keota City Administrator, Alycia Horras, tells KCII how events like these are now possible. “We were able to get a grant from the Keokuk County Endowment Foundation to be able to purchase some outdoor movie theater equipment and a new popcorn machine and slushy machine and everything to be able to set up for this.”

Anyone planning on attending should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.
