One of the Columbus Wildcats’ top softball players is bringing home more postseason accolades, as junior Lily Coil has been named All-Southeast District in Class 2A by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for a second straight season.

Despite missing time earlier this season with an injury, Coil still had a phenomenal summer with a team-high .623 batting average which was also top five in the state in Class 2A.

Coil finished 2024 with 33 total hits, including 10 doubles and two triples. The junior scored 15 runs and had 21 runs batted in while also showing great discipline at the plate with a mere two strikeouts this season.
