Just a few days after holding a field day in Kalona, the Iowa Organic Association is hosting another unique opportunity nearby with their Jefferson County Farm Crawl.
On Sunday, July 28, the bus tour will give those in attendance a better look at organic agriculture at four different sites in Jefferson County. These include Radiance Dairy, Pickle Creek Herbs, Premier1, and Blueberry Bottom Farm. Beginning and ending at Radiance Dairy, lunch kicks off the event at noon, and things should wrap up around 5 p.m.
Ethan Book, Education & Outreach Coordinator for the Iowa Organic Association, tells KCII that this is the second time they’ve held a farm crawl, and it should be a great time for anyone who attends. “It’s really just [an opportunity to] get out, enjoy the countryside, learn about the farms in southeast Iowa and have the opportunity to shop from those farms and enjoy a meal.”
The Jefferson County Farm Crawl is $60 for Organic Association members and $75 for non-members. For more information, click here.
