After the first season in program history that produced a trip to the state tournament, Sigourney Savage baseball players are rolling up the postseason honors, including three players who have been named All-Southeast District in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.

That trio features Caden Clarahan, who earns first-team all-district honors as a pitcher. The junior was dominant on the mound, posting a team-best 1.60 earned-run average and a team-high 71 strikeouts in 48 innings of work and finishing the season with a 6-3 record.

Clarahan was also a spectacular hitter, putting up a team-high .542 batting average, seven doubles, six home runs and 42 runs batted in. Sigourney senior Reid Molyneux joins him on the first team after the outfielder hit .361 with seven doubles, a homer and 22 RBI.

Freshman Chase Clarahan makes the second team as a utility player, batting .262 with six doubles, one home run and 19 RBI but also going 5-0 with a 3.05 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 39 innings on the bump. The Savages went 21-5 this season and finished second in the South Iowa Cedar League.
