Winfield-Mount Union/Columbus baseball had a solid season with eight wins, and six players walk away with all-conference honors in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

That group includes Cael Phillips, who is selected as a first-team pitcher. The senior had a 2.45 earned-run average in 40 innings pitched, allowing 39 hits and collecting 34 strikeouts.

His catcher Cole Milks is also a first-team honoree after the senior had a .385 batting average, six doubles, three triples and 18 runs batted in at the plate as well as a .958 fielding percentage behind the dish.

Junior Riley Kaalberg is All-Super Conference North as a first-team outfielder after he led the Wolves with a .431 average, 28 total hits and 16 runs scored. Kaalberg hit the only home run of the season for WMU/Columbus as well.

Sophomore teammate Trevor Phillips had an excellent season with the bat as well, hitting .400 with eight doubles and 13 RBI. Honorable mentions for the Wolves go to junior Lane Genkinger and sophomore Tyson Kaalberg.
