The Hillcrest Academy Raven soccer team was awarded recently by a pair of organizations for their dedication to academics and sportsmanship. The Ravens received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award from the Iowa High School Athletic Association in 2024. The award is given to teams who have a combined GPA of 3.25 or better. The Raven’s cumulative GPA for their squad was 3.42.

Hillcrest was also honored by the United Soccer Coaches Association with the Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Silver Award. They were one of 36 teams across the United States to earn recognition.

Hillcrest won the Southeast Iowa Superconference Championship with an 8-2 record, their first league title since 2019. The Ravens ended the season with a 10-4 overall mark.
