The ninth biggest story in Hillcrest Academy Sports from the most recent year sends us to the golf course. Coming off of an undefeated Class 1A State championship season in 2023, the Ravens again found magic this postseason, winning the 1A sectional championship at Lynnville-Sully to open the playoffs.

Hillcrest shot a sizzling 313, to edge second place BGM and their 315. The Ravens were led by a 1-2 punch at the top as Rowan Miller saw red to post an under par championship 70 to win the individual title. Liam Schrock finished right behind with a 73 in second. Other Hillcrest scores included Seth Ours with an 81, Lawson Schrock 89, Ethan Yoder 103 and Matthew Chalupa 104.

The Ravens saw their season come to a close in the District tournament at Wapello the following week where they shot a 362 team score to finish fourth. Hillcrest was 21-18 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference to finish third in the dual standings, they were seventh at the Superconference Championships. The Ravens ended the year with a 25-18 overall record.
