The Washington County Auditor’s Office is now accepting nomination papers for non-party offices which will appear on the November 5 General Election ballot. The deadline for filing is August 28 at 5:00 p.m. Terms of county hospital board, agricultural extension council, and soil conservation commission will be filled at the election, as well as Brighton Township Clerk/Trustee and Clay Township Clerk/Trustee. A term of service is 4 years for the hospital board, extension council and soil commission. Township office terms are also 4 years each. Individuals interested in running as independents for the offices of County Auditor, County Sheriff, County Attorney – to fill vacancy and County Supervisor (Districts #1, District #2 and #4) also have until August 28 to file nomination papers with the County Auditor’s Office. Nomination papers are available at the County Auditor’s Office. The filing period begins August 5, 2024.
