On August 2nd at approximately 11:03 pm the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle collision at 1936 Hwy 1 in Washington. A Chevy Silverado driven by Carl Knupp of Washington was traveling northbound on Highway 1 in the 1900 block. When a Chevy Silverado driven by Michael Porter of Washington was traveling southbound in the 1900 block of Highway 1. Knupp crossed over the centerline and collided with Porter. Porter and a juvenile passenger were both injured in the collison and transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by the Washington County Ambulance Service. A citation was issued to Knupp for driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Washington County Ambulance and Kalona QRS/Fire.
