Just after 1:30p.m. Wednesday, the Joint Emergency Communications Center in Johnson County received a 911 call from Pleasant Valley Golf Course, 4390 Sand Road SE, Iowa City. The caller reported a suspected drowning at a pond on the course grounds. Authorities arrived on scene a short time later, to find the victim fully submerged for an unknown length of time, trapped under maintenance equipment. The victim, 38-year-old Christopher Plowman of Tiffin, an employee of the golf course, was recovered from the water and declared dead on scene by medical personnel. Agencies responding included the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Hills Fire Department, Johnson County Ambulance Service, Johnson County Emergency Management and Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
