A former Washington High School soccer player is embarking on a unique journey to continue playing the game. Starting this fall, former Demon midfielder Isaac Gentry is going to play soccer and study at Richmond International Academic & Soccer Academy in the United Kingdom.

A graduate of Pekin High School this past spring, Gentry was a four-year letter winner for Washington boys’ soccer, finishing his career with nine goals and 12 assists.

The biggest of those was the final tally of his career, a free kick that he bent inside the posts against Fort Madison for the match’s only goal in a game that sealed Washington’s first-ever outright Southeast Conference championship on May 8th.

Now Gentry begins his studies and playing at the next level while also heading across the pond to Leeds, England. He’ll study international sports management while seeking a dual accredited degree at RIASA, a program affiliated with the Richmond American University London.
