heat-warning-8-26-24

After spending the majority of August at or below normal temperatures, Summer will make it’s presence felt once again in Southeast Iowa this week. The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the entire KCII listening area Monday until 8p.m. Heat index values are expected to reach up to 115 degrees. Heat related illness is possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave children or pets in unattended vehicles. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. If you see symptoms of heat stroke call 911. The National Weather Service has also issued an Excessive Heat Watch for the listening area Tuesday. Stay tuned to KCII for up-to-the-minute weather information.
