The Lone Tree Lions fell in their first football game of 2024, losing 70-12 at Iowa Valley Friday night. A 16-0 deficit in the first quarter more than doubled to 38-0 by halftime, and the Lions would not dent the scoreboard until the final period.

Senior running back Maddox Jondle led Lone Tree with 15 rushing attempts for 106 yards and a touchdown, while junior Emmett Burke had six total tackles, two tackles for loss and half a sack for the Lion defense. Lone Tree will look to bounce back in Week Two when they host Meskwaki Settlement this coming Thursday night.
