Join the Washington Chamber of Commerce as they celebrate the vibrant world of Art Domestique and the talented artists behind the scenes. They will be holding a Ribbon Cutting at Art Domestique in celebration of Washington Iowa’s newest designation as a “Cultural and Entertainment District” by the Iowa Department of Economic Development and the Iowa Arts Council. Washington is one of 19 of these districts in the state of Iowa. These districts are walkable, compact areas of a city in which a high concentration of arts and cultural facilities serve as the anchor. An application was made in May and the designation was awarded this summer. Along with the Ribbon Cutting, Art Domestique is hosting an Open House/Reception for the artists and the public called “Iowa Artists SE Corner Art Hop”. Art Domestique is one of 2 sites in Southeast Iowa chosen by the Iowa Artists Guild to display juried artwork by 11 artists from across Iowa. Many of the artists will be there in person. Cookies and punch will be served. The evening begins at 5 pm at Art Domestique located at 118 S. Iowa Ave, Washington.
