The Columbus Wildcats went on the road and knocked off Louisa-Muscatine Tuesday night in a conference volleyball collision. Columbus jumped out to the lead by winning the first set 25-17 and got better from there, winning the second frame 25-12 before ending the match with a 25-10 victory in the third set.
Junior Jessica Del Rio led Columbus with 12 kills and added four digs and a serving ace. Junior Kennedy Woepking and senior Aracely Garza each had three kills for the Wildcats, with Woepking adding 10 digs on defense and Garza racking up 14 digs and two serving aces.
Audrey Hoback added three kills, two aces and 12 digs, while fellow junior Daniela Diaz dished out 19 assists at setter to go with two kills, five digs and an ace. The win moves Columbus to 2-0 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North and 3-5 overall. The Wildcats are back on the court tonight against Pekin.
