The Lone Tree Lions are looking for their second district victory of the football season tonight when they travel to meet Midland. Lone Tree responded well to a Week One loss to Iowa Valley by knocking off Meskawki Settlement 50-6 last week.
Senior Maddox Jondle has powered the Lion offense, rushing for nearly 300 yards and four touchdowns in the first two games of the season. Junior Emmett Burke had been a playmaker for the defense with 11 tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery, while senior Brody Magruder has wreaked havoc on opposing backfields with five tackles for loss and three sacks.
Lone Tree will be facing a Midland team that is also 1-1 but is coming off their first loss, a 34-13 defeat to Calamus-Wheatland. Junior quarterback Anthony Harrington has been a solid dual threat for the Eagles, passing for 258 yards and three TDs and rushing for over 200 yards and another score, but they’ve only scored 27 total points in two games. Kickoff from Wyoming is set for 7 o’clock this evening.
