The Lone Tree Lions earned another district win on the football field Friday night by knocking off Midland 50-40 on the road. Lone Tree scored first to take a 6-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, and the Lions used a big second period to build a 32-8 lead going into halftime.
Lone Tree would need to fend off a comeback attempt by Midland, but the Lions were still leading 38-21 going into the final quarter and would hold on. Lone Tree improves to 2-0 in district play and 2-1 overall. The Lions are back on the road this coming Friday when they next play against Edgewood-Colesburg.
