The Washington Fire Department will be using the last building standing in Dublin, eight miles west of Washington, for fire training and as a way of demolition of the structure if the weather permits this evening. The building was previously a general store. The Washington County Historical Society requested assistance from the Washington Fire Department in their decision to burn this property. Items were removed from the building and taken to the Conger House Museum in Washington. The Washington County Historical Society plans to place a marker on the site after its demolition as well as mark four currently unmarked graves on the property.
The Washington Fire Department made the call to postpone the Dublin Store fire burn tonight due to the weather conditions.
