The Winfield-Mount Union cross country team had another good showing Tuesday in Donnellson at the Central Lee Invitational. Wolves senior Kohlby Newsom again led the way with a time of 17 minutes 54 seconds that earned him second place overall in the boys’ race.

Senior Jacob Nelson clocked in at just over 20-and-a-half minutes to finish 13th, with junior Bowen Thomson only one spot and 11 seconds behind him. Brayden Cline and Jagger Thomson also ran top-35 times for WMU, while fellow freshman Ashlyn Bender posted a time of 28:28 in the girls’ race.
