The WACO Warriors went on the road Friday night and earned a victory over district football rival HLV by a final score of 49-20.

WACO raced out to the lead in the first quarter behind a pair of touchdown runs from senior Louden Huisenga, while quarterback Clayton Miller connected on a 46-yard TD pass to fellow senior Isaac Rich and another scoring toss of 41 yards to senior Gage Samo to give the Warriors a 28-6 advantage that they would carry into halftime.

WACO would build on the lead in the third quarter with two TD runs by Miller and Huisenga not only scampering for another score but also getting a sack on defense for a safety.

Huisenga finished the night with 14 total rushing attempts for 109 yards, while Miller gained 53 yards on 10 carries. Miller completed 14 of 17 pass attempts for 220 yards, with Samo racking up 89 receiving yards by catching six of those passes.

Miller also led the Warrior defense with six total tackles and three tackles for loss as WACO improves to 2-1 in their district and 4-1 overall. The Warriors will try to get another road victory this coming Friday night in their next game against Easton Valley.
