The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves suffered a second straight loss on the football field Friday night when they fell 55-14 at home against Montezuma. Without starting senior quarterback Jake Edwards, WMU will still hang tough early, getting a touchdown pass from sophomore Cody Milks to only trail 14-6 after one quarter.

Unfortunately, while Milks would throw a second TD in the second period, Montezuma would score three more times to build a 35-14 lead by halftime, and Winfield-Mount Union simply couldn’t keep up with the over 380 rushing yards that the Braves would pile up.

Milks completed 15 out of 31 total passes for 138 yards, with junior tight end Max Edwards catching seven of those passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Senior Lane Genkinger also had four receptions for 31 yards and a TD, but the Wolves had only 18 yards as a team running the ball. WMU is now 2-2 as they prepare to head to English Valleys this Friday night for their Week Five contest.
