Two local volleyball teams traveled to Cedar Valley Christian Tuesday night. The Hillcrest Academy Ravens scored two victories in two set sweeps, taking down the Lone Tree Lions 21-10 and 21-18 and Cedar Valley Christian Huskies 21-13 and 21-12. Leaders on the night for the Ravens included Claire Withrow with 31 assists, Malia Yoder piled up 20 kills, 12 digs and six aces. Kylee Statler had eight kills and two blocks. Lydia Beachy added 15 digs and Stavia Miller and Marryn Boshart had three aces each. Hillcrest has won 11 of their last 12 to move their record to 14-3 on the year.

Along with the loss to the Ravens, Lone Tree beat the home Huskies by sweep 21-14 and 21-16. Lion leaders on the night included Hayden Yoder with 12 assists and four aces, Cate Sexton with six kills and two blocks, Alex Dautremont with 11 digs and two aces, Delanie Graap with seven digs, and Alyson Ford with five blocks. Following Tuesday’s action the Lions are 5-11 this season. Both Hillcrest and Lone Tree are in Southeast Iowa Superconference Tournament pool play action Thursday when the Ravens travel to Holy Trinity Catholic and the Lions host.
