Several KCII area schools will send their cross country programs to the Iowa City Kickers Complex tonight for the annual Clear Creek Classic.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will be in Iowa City. Last time on the course they swept the team and individual titles at Mount Pleasant last week. The Golden Hawk boys and girls were Class B team champs with Emmett Swartzentruber winning the boys race and Brooklyn Stutzman the girls. The Iowa Association of Track Coaches has ranked the Golden Hawk girls No. 2 in Class 2A and the boys No. 4 in their team polls. Individually, four Golden Hawks are ranked in 2A with Swartzentruber No. 8 and Preston Yutzy No. 25 for the boys and Stutzman No. 16 and Rachel Hostetler No. 28 for the girls.

Columbus will also perform in Iowa City tonight. The Wildcats were also last at Mount Pleasant where the boys were fourth in the B Division team standings led by Ty Muniz with a sixth place finish, Iris Garza led the Columbus girls in 11th. In this week’s IATC 1A poll the Wildcat boys check in at No. 12, led by Muniz and his No. 24 individual ranking.

Winfield-Mt. Union will be at CCA tonight and also ran last at Mt. Pleasant where Kohlby Newsom led the boys with a 12th place race and Ashlyn Bender 98th for the girls.

The Sigourney Savages will also be on the course in Iowa City tonight. The Savages ran last at BGM a week ago where a pair of runner-up performances led the way with Addison Yates second for the girls and Troy Klett second for the boys.

These local teams will be joined tonight by Burlington Notre Dame, HLV, Montezuma, New London, Wapello, Cedar Rapids Xavier and the home No. 5 in Class 3A Clipper girls and their No. 6 boys. Varsity races start tonight at 6p.m. at the Iowa City Kickers Complex.
