The Sigourney Savages defeated the Keota Eagles in a conference volleyball rivalry Monday night. Sigourney fended off Keota on the road to win the first set 25-20 and gained momentum from there, winning the next two sets 25-8 and 25-16 to take the match.

Josephine Moore had a team-high eight kills for the Savages and added nine digs and one serving ace. Fellow senior Reagan Clarahan had six kills and three blocked shots in the middle, while senior McKinley Chittick added five kills.

Sophomore Bailey Gretter handed out three assists but also had five kills, four digs and a block, while fellow setter Taylor Rozenboom distributed 19 assists as Sigourney improves to 3-1 in the East division of the South Iowa Cedar League and 11-4 overall. Meanwhile, the loss keeps Keota winless in conference play and drops the Eagles’ overall record to 2-7.
