The Sigourney Savages were unable to keep a three-game winning streak on the volleyball court going Tuesday night when they traveled to Iowa City to face Regina Catholic.

Taking on the ninth-ranked team in the state in Class 2A, Sigourney dropped the first set 25-14 and couldn’t catch up, losing the next two frames as well, 25-11 and 25-15.

Josephine Moore led the Savages with 10 kills and made it a double-double with 11 digs on defense. Fellow senior hitter Reagan Clarahan added three kills and two blocked shots in the middle, while senior setter Taylor Rozenboom added five digs and a serving ace to the nine assists she handed out.

The loss causes Sigourney’s record to fall to 11-4. The Savages try to rebound tonight when they hit the road again to face Colfax-Mingo.
