The Columbus Wildcats are looking to start to string victories together as they prepare to take the football field in Louisa-Muscatine tomorrow night. Columbus picked up their second win of the season last week when they beat Highland 48-14 in their homecoming game.

Riley Kaalberg continues what has been an excellent senior season running the football for the Wildcats, closing in on 800 yards on the ground and rushing for eight touchdowns while averaging over seven yards per carry. Kaalberg also leads the team in tackles, but other veterans have stepped up for the Columbus defense as well.

Senior Markell Zapiensz has a team-high nine-and-half tackles for loss, while junior Drew Totemeier has made 22 total stops and sophomore Lamar Ceant has intercepted two passes, one of which he returned for a TD against Highland.

The ‘Cats will take on a Louisa-Muscatine team that is winless through five games and averages only a little better than six points and 126 yards per game. Columbus has won four straight against the Falcons and seeks another tomorrow evening in Letts starting with kickoff at 7 o’clock.
