The Washington Demons kept up their excellent pace in cross country with some excellent performances at the West Delaware Invitational yesterday in Manchester. Washington finished third in the boys’ standings out of 21 teams and was fifth on the girls’ side in a field of 16 teams.
The Demons were led by senior Tyler Alderton’s ninth-place time of 16 minutes 52 seconds in the boys’ race, while junior Andrew Rees finished 13th in just over 17 minutes.
Junior Sawyer Tschantz also cracked the top 20 for the Washington boys, while sophomore Ethan Hotchkiss and freshman Parker Tschantz also ran top-50 times.
Junior Iris Dahl led the Demon girls with a time of 20 minutes five seconds that was 12th-best overall, while seniors Quincy Griffis, Lauren Horak, Alyvia Anderson and Kendall Hinrichsen all made the top 40 as well.
