The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves will try to get a win on their home football field tonight against Mormon Trail. WMU comes in at 3-3, including a 2-2 record in their eight-player district, and is looking to bounce back from a 72-30 defeat to Iowa Valley last week.

Quarterback Jake Edwards is closing in on 1,000 yards passing for Winfield-Mount Union but has also showed what he can do as a runner, nearly matching 11 passing touchdowns with nine on the ground.

Fellow senior Lane Genkinger has over 920 total yards from scrimmage and 12 TDs, while junior Max Edwards has become a go-to receiver with 20 catches for over 300 yards and four scores.

Genkinger and Max Edwards has also been impact players on defense with five-and-a-half tackles for loss each, while senior Cooper Buffington is another as the Wolves’ leader in total tackles.

WMU is facing a Mormon Trail team that is winless this season and is averaging only a little more than five points per game scored. Winfield-Mount Union welcomes the Saints to town for a 7 o’clock kickoff this evening.
