The WACO Warriors finished off the football regular season with a 60-12 win over English Valleys Friday night. WACO’s defense and special teams got things started, as junior Tyler Rogers recorded a sack in the end zone for a safety and senior Clayton Miller returned the ensuing punt 40 yards for a touchdown.

Junior Niles Reichenbach added a 23-yard field goal to the first-quarter scoring, and even when English Valleys got on the board, senior Louden Huisenga had a 34-yard TD run and a 15-yard catch for a score to push the lead to 26-6 at the end of the period.

Huisenga found the end zone again on a 22-yard pass and a four-yard run, while Miller found fellow senior Isaac Rich for a six-yard scoring toss to give the Warriors a 47-12 advantage by halftime.

Miller would throw a 44-yard touchdown to senior Gage Samo in the third quarter, while junior Nick West scored on a one-yard TD run as well. WACO finished the night with 250 yards of offense, led by Huisenga’s 115 yards on 11 rushes and his two receptions for 37 yards.

Senior Joel Meyer had six-and-a-half total tackles and two tackles for loss to lead the Warrior defense, while Rich intercepted a pair of passes in a game where WACO had four total takeaways and limited English Valleys to only 160 yards of offense.

With the win, the Warriors end the regular season with a record of 7-1, including a 4-1 mark in their eight-player district. WACO will be headed to the playoffs starting October 25th against an opponent to be determined.
