The Columbus Wildcats had a breakthrough season on the volleyball court, winning their most matches in four years. Six players who helped to steer them on the right track have claimed all-conference honors in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.

Leading that group is Aracely Garza, who is a first-team selection as a utility player. Columbus’ lone senior had a team-high 38 serving aces while also posting 92 kills and 227 digs.

Jessica Del Rio makes the second team as a hitter after leading the Wildcats with 139 kills and also racking up 30 aces. Fellow junior Daniela Diaz is a second-team setter, handing out nearly 430 assists to go with 162 digs.

Junior Jocelyn Hernandez also receives second-team accolades at defensive specialist after leading Columbus with 322 digs and also rolling up 30 aces.

Honorable mentions go to juniors Audrey Hoback and Kennedy Woepking as they helped the ‘Cats win 11 games, including five conference matches to tie for third place in the Super Conference North.
