After a successful run all the way to Xtream Arena and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 3A State Volleyball Tournament this week, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks have stats that compare to some of the best in the state. The Hawks rank among the top 10 of 3A in 11 different team and individual categories.
As a team on offense, Mid-Prairie finished with a .316 kill efficiency, second in Class 3A, their 1,278 kills and 1,209 assists were both fourth in 3A. Team defense saw them put up 2,097 digs, second most in Class 3A and their collective 264 service aces were fifth in 3A.
Individually, senior Dakota Mitchell gets after it on defense. She ranked third in 3A with 558 digs, and seventh with 58 aces.
Senior Callie Huber plays with precision. Her .428 kill efficiency mark is fourth in 3A.
Junior Jovi Evans is a jack of all trades, posting 359 kills fifth most in 3A and 55 aces, eighth.
Freshman Jeorgia Evans burst on the scene with 431 digs, 10th most in 3A.
Mid-Prairie won back-to-back River Valley Conference South titles and the RVC South Tournament title for the first time in school history, piled up 33 total wins, a new school record and advanced to their first State Tournament since 2004, before bowing out in the 3A Quarterfinals earlier this week in Coralville.
