The No. 9 in Class 2A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk football team owned District 5 on the field this season, winning an undefeated district title. The Hawks now also own all of the postseason MVP accolades, sweeping all three awards.
Junior Kaden Kos was named District 5 Defensive MVP. His 159 tackles in this season led Class 2A, his 23 tackles for loss were third. Kos also added an interception.
Junior Hudson Ehrenfelt was named District 5 Co-Offensive MVP. He was second in the state in 2A with 242 carries and 26 rushing touchdowns. His 1,827 all-purpose yards are fourth highest in 2A, his 28 total touchdowns are seventh most and his 1,365 rushing yards are seventh in 2A.
Sophomore Tommy Miller was named Co-Lineman MVP. On defense, he had 25 tackles, three for loss and a sack. Offensively, He was part of a Golden Hawk unit that cleared the way for the offense to put up 4,218 all-purpose yards and 46 team touchdowns, both eighth in 2A.
The future is bright for Golden Hawk football with all three MVP selections returning. The Hawks put together a 7-4 overall record to go with their first district title since 2008 and qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2A playoffs for the first time in 16 years.
