Work is underway on an improvement in Washington’s Central Park as the restroom building is being torn down and a fully new facility will go in its place. According to a letter from City of Washington Parks Director Nick Pacha, they had a pre-construction meeting this week with the contractor Christner Construction from Ottumwa. They are very eager to get going on the project to meet the May 23, 2025 completion date. The contractor installed the security/work fence around the project site on November 14, with demolition of the current building slated for November 18. There is no access to the public restrooms at Central Park until the project is complete. You can contact City Hall with any questions about the project. The contract amount for the project is $260,400.
