KCII Radio’s 4th Annual Day of Giving live Radiothon will be on air this Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is an opportunity for the community to raise money to assist area food pantries and organizations that provide help to those in our area. Local business partners will join KCII staff members on-air, pre-recorded interviews with local charity organizations will air throughout the day, and the KCII Big Red Radio will broadcast live from the Washington HyVee from 3-5 p.m.

KCII General Manager Joe Nichols explains there is a need for many hands to make light work and help provide resources, “One of the last studies that’d I had seen, you know, there’s one in 11 children are facing hunger, one in 13 Iowans, but as a nation it’s one in 11 children are facing hunger. The fact of the matter is we know that things over this last year, you know, have been tight for some people and we these entities that are out there serving our communities to be able to do it to their best ability. And if we can help out and facilitate that in any way, shape or form we want want to do it.”

Nichols says that donations of any amount are helpful and everything donated is given to area organizations.

The second day of the KCII Radiothon will be held on December 18th.
